The Pasig City government has released P5 million in financial assistance to three local government units severely affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.

A city delegation composed of representatives from the Management Information Systems Office, Tricycle Operations and Regulatory Office, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personally delivered the assistance to the beneficiaries: P2 million each to the Province of Sarangani and the Province of Davao Occidental, and P1 million to General Santos City.

The financial assistance was sourced from the 2026 Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund – Quick Response Fund and was released in accordance with Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council Resolution No. 1, Series of 2026, which was also approved by the Pasig City Council.

The assistance was received by General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, Sarangani Governor Rogelio Pacquiao, and, on behalf of Davao Occidental, DILG Provincial Director Atty. Djamyla Caballero and Board Member Caloy Baliota.

Aside from turning over the financial assistance, the Pasig City delegation also visited the Emergency Operations Centers of the recipient local governments to assess the situation and observe ongoing disaster response efforts in the earthquake-affected areas.
