Operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 11 seized more than one kilogram of suspected shabu worth an estimated P6.8 million during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila, resulting in the arrest of one suspect.
According to the suspect, he allegedly became involved in the illegal drug trade to raise money for his child’s medical operation.
Following the arrest, the city government said it is willing to help shoulder the child’s surgery. However, it was stressed that personal circumstances do not exempt anyone from accountability under the law.
The city government said while it is prepared to extend humanitarian assistance to the suspect’s family, the legal process against the suspect will continue in accordance with the law.
