The Pasay City Government and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) signed an agreement on August 10, 2026, to provide employment opportunities for local senior citizens.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the initiative aligns with her longstanding advocacy for senior workforce inclusion, a cause she championed during her tenure in Congress by helping pass legislation to support elderly employment. It highlights the city’s commitment to creating inclusive programs for senior Pasayeños while municipal operations continue seamlessly under remote-work arrangements.
Expressing her gratitude to KFC, Mayor Calixto-Rubiano underscored the importance of valuing the skills and work ethic of older workers.
“Kaya naman lubos po tayong nagpapasalamat sa KFC sa pagbubukas ng inyong mga pintuan para sa ating mga senior citizens. Ang partnership na ito ay higit pa sa simpleng pagbibigay ng trabaho. It is about recognizing their experience, their discipline, their work ethic, and the value that they can still bring to the workplace,” Calixto-Rubio said.
