Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), the PNP is preparing to mobilize more than 141,000 personnel and force multipliers nationwide to ensure public safety and orderly travel during the expected surge of motorists, travelers, and cemetery-goers over the Undas long weekend.
The deployment will comprise 73,034 PNP personnel, 16,560 personnel from other government units, and 51,578 force multipliers who will support security, traffic management, and public assistance operations in cemeteries, columbaria, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, places of worship, tourist destinations, and other strategic areas.
The PNP expects traffic to be particularly heavy on Friday, October 30, as many Filipinos travel to their home provinces and other destinations ahead of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2. Last year, 14,014,970 cemetery-goers were recorded nationwide, underscoring the scale of movement expected during the observance.
“Alam natin na maraming pamilya ang bibiyahe sa Friday, kaya planuhin na natin ang biyahe ngayon pa lang. Umalis nang mas maaga kung maaari, check the traffic situation, and give yourself enough time. We are preparing on our end, and the public’s cooperation will help make the journey safer and more orderly for everyone,” PGen Nartatez said.
All PNP offices and units will be under Full Alert Status from 12:01 a.m. on October 30 until 12:01 a.m. on November 3, 2026, with personnel maintaining readiness to assist the public and respond to incidents throughout the holiday period.
The PNP’s preparations cover 5,311 cemeteries and columbaria, with police personnel positioned to assist visitors, manage traffic, maintain peace and order, and provide immediate response when needed.
The nationwide operation is part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) approach, as it works with government agencies, local authorities, and communities to ensure a safe and orderly Undas. The effort supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s broader peace and order priorities and reflects the PNP’s commitment to responsive public service.
PGen Nartatez reminded the public to remain vigilant, secure their belongings, look after children and senior family members, and immediately seek assistance from police personnel when necessary.
With the collective efforts of the police, government partners, force multipliers, and the public, the PNP remains committed to providing Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
