PAL Takes Delivery of Fourth Airbus A350-1000

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A350-1000, boosting the flag carrier’s long-haul capabilities as part of an aggressive fleet modernization and international expansion strategy.

The aircraft is the fourth of nine A350-1000s ordered by the Lucio Tan-led airline in 2023. PAL remains the first and only carrier in Southeast Asia to operate the state-of-the-art widebody jet.

Serving as PAL’s flagship long-haul aircraft, the A350-1000 features a 382-seat, three-class configuration designed to enhance passenger comfort on intercontinental flights. The cabin layout includes private Business Class suites with sliding privacy doors, a dedicated Premium Economy section and an upgraded Economy Class product. Beyond customer comfort, the aircraft delivers superior operational performance, lower carbon emissions and significantly improved fuel efficiency compared to older-generation models.

The latest arrival comes amid a period of substantial long-term investment for the airline. During the Farnborough International Airshow, PAL signed additional commitments for widebody aircraft, including options and purchase rights, stretching deliveries through 2036.

Airline officials said these commitments reflect PAL’s confidence in the sustained growth of global air travel and its determination to maintain one of the region’s most modern fleets.

The flagship A350-1000 is deployed on critical long-haul routes connecting the Philippines to key international hubs, including San Francisco, New York and Toronto, reinforcing the carrier’s mission to extend Filipino hospitality to major global destinations.

PAL currently operates scheduled nonstop services from its primary hubs in Manila and Cebu to 29 domestic and 40 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.
