Authorities arrested two individuals and confiscated suspected counterfeit food seasoning products worth P3,832,100 in separate operations conducted on June 5 and June 10, 2026 in Zamboanga del Sur and Pampanga.

The operations were led by units of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in coordination with private partner companies, targeting the alleged distribution of trademark-infringing food products in violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

On June 5, CIDG Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Field Unit conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City that led to the arrest of a female Chinese national identified as “Lin.”

Authorities said the suspect was allegedly caught selling and distributing counterfeit food seasoning products.

Seized from the operation were 728 boxes of suspected counterfeit items valued at P3,458,000.

On June 10, CIDG Anti-Organized Crime Unit (AOCU), with support from a private partner company, conducted a separate operation in Barangay Siran, Guagua, Pampanga.

A female businesswoman identified as “Lyn” was arrested for allegedly trading and distributing trademark-infringing food seasoning products.

Authorities confiscated 87 boxes of suspected counterfeit goods with an estimated value of P374,100.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the agency will sustain operations aimed at protecting consumers and ensuring fair trade practices.

He warned that counterfeit products pose both economic and health risks, stressing continued enforcement against illegal trade networks.

The PNP said the operations are aligned with its Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, emphasizing intelligence-driven action and swift response against economic crimes.

Authorities also reminded the public to exercise caution when purchasing food products and to report suspicious commercial activity, noting that public cooperation is essential in sustaining enforcement gains.

The PNP reiterated its commitment to proactive law enforcement and consumer protection under its reform program, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
