A total of 9,553 police personnel will be deployed across Metro Manila on Sunday to secure an anti-corruption rally organized by religious and civil society groups, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.

Authorities said the deployment will cover key sites including the People Power Monument, EDSA Shrine, Mendiola, Ayala Bridge, and the US Embassy, as organizers expect up to 10,000 participants.

The rally, led by the White Ribbon Movement, will be held at the People Power Monument in Quezon City and is expected to renew calls to end corruption and hold accountable those involved.

In a statement, the NCRPO said it has implemented a comprehensive security plan to ensure a peaceful and orderly gathering while respecting the constitutional right to peaceful assembly.

The police force will be on full alert from 5 pm Friday until the end of security operations, with a layered deployment strategy to support crowd control, rapid response, and continuous monitoring.

NCRPO spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo said no security threats have been monitored so far, describing the deployment as a preventive measure.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin directed personnel to exercise maximum tolerance and uphold human rights while maintaining law and order throughout the event.
