The Philippine Navy welcomed a senior Indonesian Navy official in Manila as both sides moved to strengthen cooperation in naval education, training, and regional maritime partnership.
Lieutenant General Nur Alamsyah, commander of the Indonesian Navy’s Naval Education and Training Command, paid a courtesy call on the Philippine Navy on July 3, 2026, at Navy Headquarters in Naval Station Jose Andrada, Manila.
He was received by Rear Admiral Karl A. Decapia, commander of the Philippine Navy’s Naval Education and Training Command, who conveyed the Navy’s appreciation on behalf of the PN Flag Officer in Command.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding partnership between the Philippine Navy and the Indonesian Navy, particularly in professional exchanges, maritime cooperation, and training development.
During the discussion, Alamsyah and Decapia shared their respective approaches to naval education and training and explored ways to deepen cooperation between the two institutions.
Before the courtesy call, Alamsyah led a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Monument in Manila, paying tribute to the Philippine national hero.
The activities formed part of the KRI Bima Suci-945 Naval Diplomacy Mission and practical training program for Indonesian Naval Academy cadets.
The Philippine Navy said the engagement reflects the shared commitment of both navies to strengthen goodwill, expand professional exchanges, and enhance bilateral naval relations in support of regional peace and security.
