President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has designated Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, and Acting Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida as government caretakers while he undertakes an official working visit to Singapore.
The President departed for Singapore on Wednesday for an October 7–11 mission undertaken upon the personal invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
The Chief Executive is accompanied by an official delegation that includes Finance Secretary Frederick Go, Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, and Acting Communications Secretary Dave Gomez.
Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo Macaraig underscored that the working visit aims to deliver tangible economic benefits to the public by securing foreign direct investments, deepening bilateral ties, and exploring cooperation on nuclear technology and safety frameworks.
During the visit, President Marcos is scheduled to deliver an address at the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference, where he will meet with global business leaders to promote national economic priorities and pitch investment opportunities in key sectors.
The presidential delegation will also tour the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute to examine Singapore’s nuclear safety protocols and technical capabilities, supporting long-term energy planning, safety research, and capacity-building initiatives in the Philippines.
Addressing inquiries regarding the President’s potential attendance at the Singapore Grand Prix, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro and Ambassador Macaraig noted that his participation in the race events remains unconfirmed.
However, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will host a dinner for President Marcos in conjunction with the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2026.
