The Speaker of the House on Thursday reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ support for the Department of Agrarian Reform’s (DAR) programs aimed at improving the lives of Filipino farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries.

House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III made the commitment during the DAR Region II 2026 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Summit, where he joined DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Isabela Gov. Rodito Albano III, LPGMA party-list Rep. Allan Ty, Ilagan City Mayor Jay Diaz, and other local officials.

In his message, the Speaker said the House would continue working with DAR to strengthen programs that directly assist farmers, particularly those meant to improve productivity and livelihood opportunities in rural communities.

“As your partner, the House of Representatives, you can count on us, Secretary, to continue coordinating and working together so we can further strengthen your programs aimed at helping and supporting our farmers across the country,” Dy said in Filipino.

The summit featured the distribution of agricultural machinery and other forms of assistance to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Region II.

Officials said the support is intended to help farmers boost production, reduce labor costs, and improve their income.

Before the formal program, Dy visited booths showcasing local products from different provinces in the region. He also joined DAR personnel, farmers, and local officials in a boodle fight luncheon.

The Speaker also took part in the “Hawak Mo Ang Beat” dance craze during the event, drawing cheers from attendees in what organizers described as a gesture of appreciation for DAR’s work and its partnership with local communities.

Dy said continued coordination among Congress, DAR, and local governments remains crucial in ensuring that agrarian reform beneficiaries receive sustained support beyond land distribution.
