For a few seconds, Matteo Guidicelli had fans thinking the Sarah Geronimo announcement they had been waiting years for had finally arrived.
It started with an ultrasound. Guidicelli posted a short Instagram Reel on August 27 showing an ultrasound image on a monitor. With little context, some viewers immediately assumed it had something to do with his wife.
Then the camera revealed the patient. It was Matteo.
The ultrasound was his, and the clip was a teaser for his Matteo G Primetime vlog.
The reveal quickly turned excitement into amusement. One commenter said the image made their hair stand on end because they thought it was Sarah’s ultrasound. Another admitted shouting “buntis si Sarah G!” to officemates before realizing Matteo was the one being examined.
Some fans still wondered whether the teaser could be hinting at a bigger announcement. So far, there has been none.
The reaction was hardly surprising. Since marrying in February 2020, Sarah and Matteo have repeatedly faced pregnancy speculation, sometimes prompted by otherwise ordinary social media posts.
In 2021, Matteo shared photos of himself playing hopscotch at a park and mentioned that he was thinking about getting a new family SUV. The word “family” was enough to get followers talking.
Later that year, a photo of Sarah prompted another round of speculation after some viewers thought they saw a baby bump.
Matteo addressed the rumors in a 2022 interview with TV Patrol.
“Wala, sexy nga ng asawa ko ngayon, e. Hangin lang iyan sa bundok. Hangin lang,” he said. He added that they wanted to enjoy married life first and were hopeful about having a child in the future.
The speculation resurfaced in July when Sarah turned 38 and Matteo wrote in his birthday message, “This will be the best year ever.” Some followers once again searched the post for a possible clue.
That history made the ultrasound an especially effective fake-out.
Sarah and Matteo have kept much of their six-year marriage private despite continued public interest in their relationship. As a result, even small glimpses into their personal lives tend to draw attention from fans.
This time, the misunderstanding unfolded within seconds. Viewers saw the ultrasound, made the pregnancy connection and reacted before the Reel reached its reveal.
There is currently no confirmed pregnancy announcement from Sarah or Matteo.
