Marcos Renews Gov’t Commitment to Uplift Filipino Lives; Touts Housing Program

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving Filipinos’ quality of life, vowing to sustain key government programs despite global and domestic challenges, including rising fuel prices, energy demands, and climate-related pressures.

In the 281st episode of his weekly program “BBM,” the President said government services will continue uninterrupted amid ongoing crises affecting the country.

“Sa gitna ng krisis sa enerhiya, tuloy-tuloy ang paghahatid ng mga programang nagbibigay ng pag-asa, lalo na sa pabahay para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” Marcos said in a message posted on his official social media accounts.

He stressed that public service must remain steady regardless of prevailing challenges.

“Patuloy ang trabaho sa lahat ng sangay ng gobyerno… hindi natin hahayaang maparalisa ang serbisyong ibinibigay ng gobyerno, anuman ang problemang hinaharap,” he said.

Marcos highlighted ongoing initiatives in infrastructure, healthcare, education, law enforcement, and programs supporting sports, culture, arts, and tourism.

He placed particular emphasis on the administration’s housing program, which aims to address a backlog of more than six million units nationwide. Central to this effort is the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH), implemented through the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.

The President said the initiative seeks not only to provide shelter but also to restore dignity and stability for Filipino families.

Under the 4PH program, government subsidies have lowered interest rates to between one percent and three percent, making housing loans more accessible to low- and middle-income households.

“We will find ways so that all those who need housing will be provided,” Marcos said.

He also cited ongoing developments across housing sites nationwide, including a recent visit to a project in Pampanga where he noted improvements in beneficiaries’ living conditions.

Marcos likewise inspected the Palayan City Township project in Nueva Ecija, a 23-hectare development launched in 2022 that is expected to deliver 24 residential buildings capable of accommodating more than 22,000 families.

Each unit, measuring about 29 square meters, is priced at around P1.3 million, with no down payment and monthly amortizations ranging from P3,500 to P4,000.

“It’s heartening to see that our fellow Filipinos are living more comfortably and better,” the President said during the visit.

Marcos said the government will continue to prioritize programs that ease financial burdens and improve living standards, with housing positioned as a cornerstone of long-term social development.
