President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is convening on Tuesday his economic team and the executives of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to discuss monetary policy and its implications for Filipino households and businesses.
Topping the agenda of the meeting with the BSP is the Monetary Board’s policy considerations behind its decision last week to raise interest rates to 5.50 percent, including understanding the policy decision and its implications for borrowing costs, households, and businesses.
In Marcos’ meeting with the economic team, the discussions will include the government’s economic priorities and a review of the economic concerns affecting Filipino households and businesses.
Later in the day, the President will receive in Malacañang ambassadors Nasser S.H. Shraideh of Jordan, Akbar Saleh Chahaimi of Chad, Isoa Delamisi Tikoca of Fiji, Abdirashid Salat Abdille of Kenya, and Telesphore Irambona of Burundi.
