MacroAsia Corp. and Germany’s Lufthansa Technik AG, operating through their joint venture Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP), have officially broken ground on a new aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Clark International Airport, further bolstering the country’s growing aviation footprint.

Spanning a 157,000-square-meter site, the new base maintenance hub is targeted to commence operational activities in 2028.

The Clark facility will serve as LTP’s second primary maintenance hub in the Philippines. It will complement the joint venture’s flagship facility at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), where the company has delivered comprehensive MRO operations for over 25 years.

Engineered specifically to accommodate widebody commercial aircraft, the upcoming Clark complex will feature state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance hangars, a specialized paint shop, and non-destructive testing workshops.

Initial operations will focus on servicing Airbus and Boeing widebody platforms, with future expansion plans designated to cover the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 fleets

As part of the global Lufthansa Technik Group, which encompasses over 30 affiliates and subsidiaries worldwide, LTP delivers end-to-end maintenance and engineering solutions to international air carriers.

LTP’s core competencies include heavy base maintenance checks for the Airbus A320, A330, A340, and A380, alongside the Boeing 777. The company’s service suite also spans complex structural modifications, cabin reconfigurations, retrofit programs, and lease-return inspections.

Headquartered within an economic zone at NAIA, LTP additionally operates line maintenance outposts at key regional hubs in Cebu, Clark, Davao, and Kalibo.
