Inigo Pascual is following up his return to Filipino recording with “Pagdating ng Panahon,” his latest project under Star Music after rejoining the label earlier this year.
The new song follows “Ikaw at Ikaw,” the self-written single Pascual released in May as he resumed making music with Star Music after pursuing projects in both the Philippines and the United States.
BINI member Mikha Lim is also connected to the visual side of the new project.
Star Music earlier teased “Pagdating ng Panahon” on social media, with Mikha subsequently sharing material related to the release. Promotional listings for the project have also identified the BINI member as the music video’s muse.
The release comes as Pascual turned 29 on September 14, but it also extends a recording run that had already begun several months before his birthday.
When Pascual returned to Star Music in May, he framed the move around songwriting and reconnecting with the beginnings of his music career.
“I wanted to go back to my roots, I wanted to go back to how I started as a musician,” Pascual said at the time.
His first release after returning was “Ikaw at Ikaw,” which he composed himself. Gabriel Tagadtad arranged and produced the track.
Pascual said his experiences moving between the Philippines and the United States also found their way into the song.
“It’s a song about coming home to a person whose love never changed. But it’s also a reflection of where I am in life right now,” he said.
The singer had spent part of the previous years pursuing work abroad, including an acting stint in the American musical drama “Monarch,” while continuing to release music.
His decision to work again with Star Music also reunited him with the label involved in the earlier stages of his recording career.
“It feels like I’m coming back to my home. I can easily say that Star Music, they were the people that really saw the potential in me from the very beginning and they allowed me to create music, to even discover that I can be a composer,” Pascual said.
The May release was not presented as a standalone project. Star Music said “Ikaw at Ikaw” would be part of a forthcoming album from Pascual, with several songs on the record written by him.
ABS-CBN Music creatives, content and operations head Jonathan Manalo also said at the time that Pascual had remained connected with the label despite pursuing other projects.
“Inigo will always be family. Hindi naman talaga siya rin umalis sa amin. His songs, his music stayed with us,” Manalo said.
“Pagdating ng Panahon” follows “Ikaw at Ikaw” as Pascual continues work on his forthcoming album under Star Music.
