Commuter infrastructure along Metro Manila’s busiest transit corridor will see immediate operational adjustments as the newly rehabilitated EDSA Busway Guadalupe Station reopens on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon and Public Works Secretary Giovanni Lopez inspected the station on Monday as part of joint agency efforts to overhaul public transportation facilities.
Following the site inspection, transportation officials moved to address basic passenger amenities across the network’s footbridges and waiting areas.
“Secretary Dizon also ordered the installation of proper toilets, ceiling fans and additional seats at busway stations for passengers,” the DOTr said.
The agency stated that the facility enhancements stem from ongoing coordination between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to complete critical infrastructure projects.
The collaborative push aims to align station conditions with administrative directives prioritizing passenger welfare and daily commute convenience across public transit nodes.
