GenSan Airport to Resume Flights June 15 After Quake Repairs

Commercial flight operations at General Santos International Airport will resume on June 15, 2026, following the completion of rapid repair works after the June 8 earthquake, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.

The reopening comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the immediate restoration of key transport infrastructure to ensure safe and uninterrupted travel in affected areas.

DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez earlier assured that airport operations would resume within a week of the quake, citing expedited rehabilitation and safety checks.

“The DOTr and CAAP have conducted a complete safety assessment, and we confirmed that commercial operations at GenSan Airport can resume tomorrow so that the travel of our passengers will not be delayed,” Lopez said.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said it coordinated with airline operators, airport stakeholders, and relevant government agencies to ensure safe and orderly resumption of operations.

Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for updated flight schedules and travel arrangements.
