Operatives of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested former police Lt. Col. Rafael Dumlao on Tuesday in connection with the 2016 killing of South Korean businessman Jee Ick-joo.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla announced Dumlao’s arrest during a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Remulla said Dumlao was arrested at around 5 am inside a house in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.
Dumlao had been wanted over the abduction and killing of Jee, whose case drew national outrage after it was revealed that the businessman was taken and later killed inside Camp Crame in 2016.
The government had offered a P1 million reward for information leading to Dumlao’s arrest.
Remulla said the operation was carried out based on information provided by an unnamed informant, who is expected to receive the reward.
Authorities also seized from Dumlao a firearm that reportedly belonged to another individual.
