Dela Rosa Camp Surrenders 20 Firearms After License Revocation

The camp of Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has surrendered 20 firearms to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Davao City following the revocation of his License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and firearm registrations, authorities said.

In a statement, the PNP said the turnover took place on June 11 in Barangay Maa through an authorized legal representative of Dela Rosa. The firearms were received by personnel of the Regional Civil Security Unit 11 (RCSU-11) and were properly documented before being transported to their office in Davao City for safekeeping.

The PNP said the firearms are now under official custody in accordance with standard rules and procedures. It added that the entire process was conducted in an orderly manner with full documentation and coordination among concerned units.

Authorities earlier revoked Dela Rosa’s LTOPF and firearm registrations through the Firearms and Explosives Office, noting that such permits may be cancelled when the holder faces a pending case punishable by at least two years of imprisonment. Police also confirmed that 117 firearms are registered under his name.

The development comes after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Dela Rosa, who has been named in connection with the crimes against humanity case involving former president Rodrigo Duterte.
