The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) will livestream the 2026 Filipino Diaspora Summit on June 16, expanding public access to the global gathering of overseas Filipinos and development partners.
The summit will be held at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City and is expected to gather about 350 non-resident Filipinos (NRFs), government officials, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations from 29 countries.
With the theme “Transformation Through Diaspora Engagement: Harnessing Filipino Global Power in Advancing the Philippines’ Cultural, Economic, and Political Goals,” the event aims to highlight the role of overseas Filipinos as partners in national development. It also carries the slogan “Dugong Pinoy: Filipinos Transforming the World.”
The program will run from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time) and will be accessible via the CFO’s official online platforms, allowing broader participation from migration experts, academics, media, and the global Filipino community.
The CFO said the summit is designed to recognize the contributions of more than five million non-resident Filipinos across over 200 countries and territories, while strengthening long-term engagement between diaspora communities and the Philippines.
The agency, established under Batas Pambansa Blg. 79 and attached to the Office of the President, focuses on Filipino permanent residents abroad, naturalized citizens, dual citizens, marriage migrants, and other overseas Filipinos with sustained ties to the country.
Officials said the summit will serve as a platform for collaboration, exchange of best practices, and development of initiatives that translate diaspora engagement into concrete contributions to national development goals.
