Army Releases P9.6M Total Separation Pay for Retiring Auxiliaries

The Philippine Army’s 8th Infantry Division (8ID) has released more than P9.6 million in separation gratuity benefits to 77 retiring CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) members in Eastern Visayas in recognition of their years of service in maintaining peace and security in conflict-affected communities.

The financial assistance, amounting to P9,613,187, was distributed through different infantry battalions under the 8ID based in Camp Vicente Lukban in Catbalogan City, Samar.

Records showed that 30 CAAs under the 93rd Infantry Battalion received P3.73 million, while 22 members from the 43rd Infantry Battalion were granted P2.68 million. Another 14 CAAs from the 63rd Infantry Battalion received P1.78 million, while 11 personnel from the 46th Infantry Battalion were given P1.4 million.

Most of the beneficiaries had served for at least eight years, while others rendered between five and seven years of service supporting military operations and community security efforts across the region.

The Army said the gratuity program serves as financial support for retiring CAAs as they transition back to civilian life, helping them start small businesses, support their families, and build sustainable livelihoods.

Military officials also described the assistance as recognition of the role played by CAAs in securing remote and conflict-prone communities and helping government forces maintain peace and order.

“For years, our CAAs stood side by side with our soldiers in safeguarding communities and preserving peace,” the 8ID said in a statement.

The division added that the initiative forms part of broader government efforts to honor the contributions of civilian auxiliaries while promoting their reintegration into society and strengthening long-term community resilience.

The 8ID also reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting its peace partners and recognizing their contributions to peacekeeping and nation-building efforts in Eastern Visayas.
