Police arrested two suspects in the killing of a 40-year-old delivery rider in Bocaue, Bulacan, shortly after the victim was attacked while delivering a parcel on May 19, 2026.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the victim, a resident of Binang 1st in Bocaue, was in Barangay Turo when one of the suspects allegedly stabbed him from behind. Investigators said the rider tried to flee but was struck again with a bladed weapon, causing him to collapse.

While the victim was already helpless on the ground, the second suspect allegedly fired several shots at him, killing him on the spot.

Personnel of the Bocaue Municipal Police Station immediately launched a follow-up operation, which led to the arrest of the two suspects within the area shortly after the incident.

Authorities recovered a 9mm Parabellum pistol marked FEG-Budapest, with serial number 111264, along with four live rounds, two magazines, five spent cartridge cases, and a knife allegedly used in the attack.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the swift arrest showed the police force’s commitment to respond quickly to violent crimes and bring offenders to justice.

“May pamilyang nagdurusa sa bawat buhay na nawala sa karahasan, kaya tungkulin ng pulisya na bigyang-hustisya ang biktima,” Nartatez said.

“We will not allow this kind of crime in our community. We will continue our efforts to maintain peace and public safety,” he added.

The PNP said the operation forms part of its strengthened crime response under its Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which prioritizes rapid response, case build-up, and sustained investigative action against violent offenders.

Police said the case remains part of continuing efforts to ensure accountability and maintain public safety under the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
