Pasig Cops Commended by NAPOLCOM for Saving Woman’s Life

Three Pasig City police officers were commended by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) for their quick response that helped save a woman who suddenly lost consciousness during an emergency.

NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan personally recognized Police Master Sergeant Melchor Villoso, Police Corporal Arvie Surio, and Patrolman Mark Anthony Tagle during a press briefing at the commission’s central office in Quezon City.

The three officers are assigned to the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU) of the Pasig City Police Station.

The commendation stemmed from an April 6 incident along C. Raymundo Avenue in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City, where the officers were conducting patrol operations when a concerned woman asked for help for her co-worker who had collapsed inside the ARMAL Business Building.

The TMRU team immediately responded and transported the victim to TriCity Medical Center for urgent medical attention.

Calinisan praised the officers for showing compassion, professionalism, and readiness to serve beyond routine law enforcement duties.

“Ang tunay na pulis ay hindi lamang tagapagpatupad ng batas kundi tagapaglingkod ng mamamayan, lalo na sa oras ng pangangailangan,” Calinisan said.

“Their quick response and compassion reflect the kind of police service our people deserve,” he added.

The NAPOLCOM official said the actions of the three officers should remind the public that many police personnel continue to serve with integrity, courage, and genuine concern for citizens.

He added that stories of honesty, sacrifice, and humanity within the police force must be highlighted to strengthen public trust and inspire other officers to serve with honor and dignity.
