The Philippine Army has completed pre-deployment training for 466 incoming platoon leaders as part of efforts to strengthen field leadership and operational readiness.

The graduates completed the Army’s nearly four-month Officer Pre-Deployment Course during ceremonies held May 11 at Camp Servillano Aquino in Tarlac.

Army officials said the program prepares newly commissioned officers for field assignments by enhancing operational knowledge and familiarizing them with the functions of frontline Army units.

The latest batch included 324 graduates of Officer Candidate Course Class 63-2025, 141 newly commissioned reserve officers called to active service, and one foreign graduate from the Australian Defence Force Academy.

Representing Army chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete during the ceremony, Army Inspector General Maj. Gen. Isagani Criste urged the young officers to lead with professionalism, discipline, and integrity as they begin their military careers.

“As you join your respective units, you will serve alongside soldiers who have spent years in the field and have gained valuable experience through service and sacrifice. Learn from them,” Criste said.

The Philippine Army said the training forms part of its continuing efforts to strengthen leadership development and improve operational capability across its units.
