Cabinet Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. said Monday that former Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa Jr. voluntarily stepped down from his post after undergoing knee surgery.
“It’s voluntary, it’s voluntary,” Abalos said when asked about Herbosa’s resignation.
Abalos said he recently visited Herbosa to check on his condition and described the former health secretary as a good friend.
Herbosa said he resigned because he needs three to four months of extensive rehabilitation following knee replacement surgery this month.
