The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) arrested two wanted individuals, including a provincial top wanted suspect facing carnapping charges, during separate manhunt operations in Bukidnon and Negros Oriental.

In Dumaguete City, authorities arrested a female suspect tagged as the Top 8 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level for alleged violation of the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

The operation was conducted in Barangay Daro by personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team–Negros Oriental, with support from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and the Dumaguete City Police Station.

The suspect was apprehended on the strength of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 38 in Dumaguete City.

Meanwhile, in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, another manhunt operation led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Operatives from the Provincial Highway Patrol Team–Bukidnon served warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 46 in Malaybalay City in connection with drug-related cases.

Both suspects are now under police custody pending documentation and turnover to the courts that issued the warrants.

PNP-HPG acting director Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan said the successful operations highlight the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies to track down wanted persons through intelligence-driven operations.

He also encouraged the public to support police efforts by reporting the whereabouts of fugitives and cooperating with authorities during operations.
