Road Closures Set in Quezon City Sunday for ARTA Fun Run

  • May 9, 2026

Several major roads in Quezon City will be temporarily closed on Sunday morning to give way to the 2026 ARTAkbo: Run for Transparency and Accountability for Good Governance organized by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

In an advisory, the Quezon City government said portions of Scout Rallos, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Don A. Roces Avenue, and Tomas Morato Avenue will be affected by the closures.

Half of Scout Rallos will be closed starting at 4 am, while the entire stretches of Mother Ignacia Avenue, Don A. Roces Avenue, and Tomas Morato Avenue will be shut down beginning 6 am.

Authorities said Scout Rallos, Mother Ignacia, and Don A. Roces are expected to reopen by 8 am. Tomas Morato Avenue, meanwhile, will remain closed until 10 am as part of the city government’s regular Sunday “Car-free, Carefree” program.

The city government added that personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department, Department of Public Order and Safety, Task Force Disiplina, and the Quezon City Police District will be deployed to manage traffic in affected areas.

Motorists were advised to take alternative routes due to the anticipated traffic congestion.
