A look into the Harry Potter x Timex watch collection
Christmas 2026 is shaping up to be a major moment for the wizarding world. HBO’s upcoming series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is set to premiere on December 25, kicking off a planned seven-season run, one for each book, through 2037. Early signs point to massive interest. The teaser trailer alone pulled in hundreds of millions of views within its first two days.
Right on cue, Timex has stepped in. The American watchmaker, known for making reliable and accessible timepieces since the 19th century, has launched a collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Its Harry Potter-themed collection lands just as the franchise prepares for a full-scale cultural resurgence. Whether by strategy or timing, it is well placed and hard to ignore.
At the entry level, the collection leans into fan identity. The Timex Weekender, long considered a go-to casual watch, gets four new variants representing Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.
Each model features subtle but playful details. A Sorting Hat-inspired seconds hand, house crests on a clean dial, and an INDIGLO backlight that reveals house colors when activated. Even the leather strap carries themed embossing. At around $139, roughly P8,000, these are accessible pieces that let fans wear their house allegiance without overthinking it.
The Hailey model features a slim rectangular gold-tone case, a brushed cream dial, and understated crystal markers reflecting each Hogwarts house. Branding is minimal, with just a subtle nod to Hogwarts on the strap. The piece reads as a classic dress watch at first glance but rewards those who look closer. Price point is around $179, or approximately ₱10,300.

The collection also includes designs that lean further into recognizable elements from the series. These include watches inspired by Butterbeer, the Sorting Hat, and Platform 9¾, each incorporating small animated or thematic details into the dial design.
These models feel more overtly collectible. They are the kind of pieces that spark conversation or signal fandom instantly. They fall within the $169 to $179 range.
At the top end sits the Waterbury Skeleton Automatic, a more serious watch in both design and price. This features a visible mechanical movement through its skeletonized dial, along with a 40-hour power reserve powered purely by wrist motion. Design elements include a ceramic bezel engraved with Hogwarts references, crystal hour markers, and a detailed case back showcasing both the movement and Hogwarts insignia.
At $549, or around ₱32,000, it moves beyond novelty and into enthusiast territory. It is a piece that can appeal even outside the fandom.

The bigger picture is what makes this release especially interesting. With a new generation of actors set to lead the HBO series and renewed global attention on the franchise, the Harry Potter brand is entering another major cycle. This collection arrives just ahead of that wave.
For Filipino fans in particular, many of whom grew up with the original films, this is a re-entry point. A mix of nostalgia, new content, and wearable merchandise is a strong combination, which the heritage watch brand understood.
Whether you go for a simple house-themed Weekender or the more intricate automatic piece, one thing is clear. The wizarding world is back in motion, and this time it is ticking on your wrist.
