Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday said the faction of Gatchalian is good at “dividing”; that’s why they got the amount that P700 million in taxpayers’ money was wasted while the Senate was under his watch for 28 days.
Going on Facebook live, Sen. Cayetano said Lacson used the estimates by Gatchalian that the Senate spends around P25 million a day for its operations that why Lacson arrived at the amount of P700 million.
He said Gatchalian just looked at the total budget of the Senate and divided it by the number of days in a year to arrive at the amount of P25 million a day in operational expenses.
Sen. Cayetano, however, did not give an amount as to how much the Senate actually spends in a day of operations.
“So, nasaan yung intellectual dishonesty? Nasaan ang pagtatago ng katotohanan? Simple lang po. Kahit sino po ang Senate President, P25M a day ang gastos ng Senado kung ganoon ka-simple ang computation mo. Meaning, yung budget ng buong Senado, divided by the number of calendar days (So, where is the intellectual dishonesty? Where is the hiding on truth? It’s simple. No matter who the Senate President is, it’s P25 million a day [in operational expenses] if that is the way they computed it. Meaning, they got the whole budget of the Senate and divided it by the number of calendar days),” Sen. Cayetano said.
He said Gatchalian’s bloc is good at dividing; that’s why they divided the Senate.
“So, makikita niyo po, ni-reveal niya, parang pang-intriga, di ba? Kasi magaling naman talaga silang mag-intriga eh. Nag take turns lang naman po. Si Raffy Tulfo, si Erwin Tulfo, si Senator Ping Lacson, tapos yung iba sa grupo nila. Tag team lang yun. O kayo naman ang mang-inis kay Alan. Kayo naman ang magkalat ng di totoo. Kayo naman ang magkalat ng ganito (So, what they revealed is like sowing intrigues, right? Because they are good at sowing intrigues. They are just taking turns. Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo, Senator Ping Lacson, and the others in their group. It’s just like a tag team. It’s your turn to annoy Alan. It’s now your turn to spread lies about him),” he added.
He said Gatchalian’s group is doing all these things to veer public attention away from the real root of corruption in the country.
The former Senate President said the Gatchalian bloc wants to “build a nation” to their liking, but his group wants to build a nation founded on truth and justice.
“Kasi kung regime of truth and justice, let me tell you mga kababayan, there are two groups.
