A driver was rescued after his sport utility vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier along Quirino Highway in Quezon City early Saturday, police said.
The incident, which occurred past midnight on May 3, involved a Honda CR-V that collided with a barrier in front of a hardware store in Barangay Kaligayahan, according to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
Responding personnel from Police Station 16, along with a barangay ambulance team and traffic enforcers from the District Traffic Enforcement Unit, provided immediate assistance at the scene.
The injured driver was transported to a nearby medical facility and is now in stable condition, recovering at Commonwealth Hospital.
Police said the coordinated response helped ensure the victim received timely medical attention and prevented further harm.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, including possible factors such as road conditions, vehicle issues, or driver-related circumstances.
QCPD Director Randy Glenn Silvio commended the responding officers for their swift action.
“I commend our police personnel for their quick and prompt response that helped save a life,” he said.
He also reminded motorists to follow traffic rules and practice responsible driving to ensure road safety.
