A major restructuring in payment infrastructure has consolidated multi-sector digital assets under a dedicated innovation vehicle, transitioning a staple utility collection platform into full tech-firm ownership.
Kayana Solutions Inc., a digital innovation firm partly owned by PLDT Inc., has completed its P2.7-billion acquisition of CIS Bayad Center Inc. (Bayad).
In a regulatory disclosure, PLDT reported that Kayana finalized the transaction on Nov. 3, 2026, acquiring 504,948 common shares of Bayad from Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Corporate Information Solutions Inc.
The acquisition involved a total purchase price of P2.7 billion.
Following the closing of the deal, Bayad transitioned to 100 percent ownership under Kayana.
Kayana operates as a joint venture, with PLDT, Meralco, and Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) maintaining equity holdings of 45 percent, 27.5 percent, and 27.5 percent, respectively.
Bayad manages payment collection services through a nationwide network consisting of both physical counters and digital transaction channels.
