BLACKPINK star LISA is bringing a cinematic twist to her solo music career with the release of her six-track EP PRESS PLAY and its action-packed music video for “Tarantino.”
Released Friday, October 23, through LLOUD Co. and RCA Records, the project combines music and movie-inspired storytelling as the Thai superstar continues to expand her presence beyond K-pop.
The “Tarantino” music video follows LISA on a mission through a hotel to deliver a note to acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Along the way, she encounters a series of confrontations, showcasing fight sequences and dramatic visuals inspired by action cinema.
The video reflects the concept behind PRESS PLAY, which was designed to give listeners an experience similar to watching a movie.
The EP features six tracks: “SaWaDiKa,” “V12,” “Cobra,” “Tarantino,” “Cut U Off,” and “Sweat.”
Ahead of the release, LISA generated significant buzz with “SaWaDiKa,” a song celebrating her Thai roots. Its Bangkok-filmed music video reportedly garnered more than 70.8 million YouTube views within its first 24 hours, according to Sony Music.
The single also debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, further strengthening her international presence as a solo artist.
Beyond music, LISA has been building a career in acting and entertainment. She made her television acting debut in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus and is set to appear in TYGO, a film connected to the Extraction universe.
Her documentary Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, also chronicles her journey toward artistic independence, including the launch of her management company LLOUD and her solo Coachella debut.
Meanwhile, LISA is preparing for another career milestone with her VIVA LA LISA residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas this November.
The six-show engagement follows strong ticket demand, with the first four performances reportedly selling out in less than 10 minutes.
The residency is being billed as a historic first for a K-pop artist, highlighting LISA’s growing influence in the global live entertainment industry.
Since releasing her debut solo album Alter Ego in 2025, LISA has continued to establish an artistic identity outside BLACKPINK through international collaborations, acting projects, and major live performances.
With PRESS PLAY, she adds another dimension to that journey, blending her musical identity with the visual storytelling of cinema.
