House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III has urged barangay officials across the country to fully leverage their fixed tenure by prioritizing impactful local governance and efficient public service delivery.
Speaking to local leaders, the House chief emphasized that elected village representatives must maintain dedicated focus on their mandates rather than allowing local administrative duties to be sidelined by premature political considerations.
He highlighted that stable tenure provides local executives with the precise framework needed to implement long-term community programs, improve grassroots infrastructure, and ensure government interventions directly reach everyday citizens.
During the engagement, Speaker Dy reiterated that grassroots leaders serve as the primary link between national policy initiatives and local implementation, making sustained focus at the community level critical for national progress.
He also said local leaders must protect public trust by ensuring that government funds are utilized responsibly and that essential services remain accessible to all residents.
Reaffirming the legislative branch’s support for local government units, the House leader noted that lawmakers remain committed to institutionalizing reforms that empower barangay workers and strengthen community-level administration.
He also said that strong governance requires a combination of high administrative competence and uncompromised integrity to effectively manage public resources and advance citizen welfare.
