SB19 has teased new music coming in October ahead of the Philippines’ hosting of the 49th ASEAN Summit.
SB19 has teased new music set for release in October as the Philippines prepares to host the 49th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in November.
The announcement was made in a Department of Tourism video featuring SB19 members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin alongside singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan to mark the start of the Ber months.
The group mentioned its participation in the upcoming ASEAN event before revealing that new music is expected next month. No title, exact release date or other details about the project were announced.
Chan, whose songs have long been associated with the Philippine Christmas season, joined SB19 in discussing Filipino holiday traditions featured in the video, including Simbang Gabi, Noche Buena and Christmas caroling.
His 1990 song “Christmas in Our Hearts” has remained a popular holiday recording in the Philippines and regularly returns to public attention as the Christmas season approaches.
The appearance comes after the Department of Tourism tapped SB19, along with fellow P-pop group BINI, as tourism ambassadors.
The DOT has since launched dedicated travel microsites for the groups featuring Philippine destinations and tourism packages aimed at encouraging fans to visit different parts of the country.
SB19’s featured destinations include Batanes, Bohol, Surigao, Boracay, Siquijor and Zamboanga.
The group has also performed internationally, with appearances in the United States, Japan and other overseas markets.
The Philippines is scheduled to host the 49th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in November.
Further details about SB19’s upcoming music have yet to be announced.
