PNP Arrests 3 High-Value Drug Suspects, Seizes Over P11.6-M in Illegal Drugs

Law enforcement authorities seized over P11.6 million worth of illegal drugs, arrested three high-value targets, and destroyed tens of thousands of marijuana plants in a series of joint operations across the country from August 27 to early August 28.

Anti-drug units conducted three separate buy-bust operations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. In Naga City, Camarines Sur, police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents arrested a high-value individual in Barangay Bagumbayan Sur on August 27, seizing approximately 364.3 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2.47 million. Shortly after midnight on August 28, operatives in Roxas City, Capiz, apprehended another high-value target and recovered about 185 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.26 million. Hours later in Lupon, Davao Oriental, a 4:50 a.m. raid led to the arrest of a third suspect alongside the recovery of roughly 152 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.03 million.

In a separate eradication effort in Northern Luzon, police discovered a massive marijuana plantation in Barangay Ngibat, Tinglayan, Kalinga. Authorities uprooted and destroyed on-site 34,500 fully grown marijuana plants estimated at P6.9 million SDP, though no cultivators were apprehended during the sweep.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the field units, emphasizing that operational integrity remains as crucial as the volume of illegal drugs removed from circulation.

“We will keep doing the work where it matters—on the ground, with our partners, and within the bounds of the law. Hindi lang volume ng nakumpiska ang tinitingnan natin; mahalaga rin na bawat operasyon ay maayos, accountable at may malinaw na resulta,” PGen Nartatez said.

The arrested suspects and seized evidence remain in police custody pending formal charges.
