Philippine and Peruvian Navy officers strengthened maritime ties during a shipboard engagement on the sidelines of the Rim of the Pacific Exercise.
The commanding officer of the Peruvian Navy’s landing platform dock BAP Pisco visited the Philippine Navy’s BRP Miguel Malvar on July 7, 2026.
BRP Miguel Malvar Commanding Officer Capt. Paul Michael P. Hechanova welcomed the Peruvian delegation led by BAP Pisco Commanding Officer Capt. Luis Angulo Morales.
During the visit, the two sides exchanged insights on their respective naval operations and discussed areas of common interest.
They also reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and interoperability among partner nations, particularly in support of maritime security and regional stability.
The Philippine Navy said the engagement reflects its commitment to expanding international defense partnerships through activities that promote mutual respect, interoperability, and collective maritime security.
