The Philippine National Police seized more than P21 million worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-drug operations in Pasay City and Ormoc City.
In Pasay City, personnel of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group intercepted an inbound parcel at the DHL Express Philippines Cargo Haus Building, Custom Bonded Warehouses, on July 8, 2026.
Police said the package, which arrived through an international shipment, contained around 2,102 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P14,293,600.
The parcel was reportedly shipped by a Cambodian national, while a consignee from Imus City, Cavite, was listed in the shipment details.
The seized items were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service at the National Headquarters in Quezon City for documentation, examination, and proper disposition.
In Ormoc City, Leyte, police operatives conducted a buy-bust operation on July 9 in Barangay South, which led to the arrest of a suspect identified only by an alias.
Authorities recovered approximately 1,029 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P6,997,200, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.
The operation was conducted by Ormoc City Police Station 1, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 8, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded the operating units and partner agencies for their coordination in disrupting the illegal drug supply chain.
“Ang mahalaga po dito ay mapigilan natin ang pagpasok at pagkalat ng ilegal na droga sa ating mga komunidad. Every successful operation means preventing more people, especially the youth, from being affected by this illegal activity,” Nartatez said.
Nartatez said the operations reflect the PNP’s continuing focus on intelligence-driven enforcement, inter-agency coordination, and lawful police action against threats to public safety.
He also assured the public that anti-drug operations will continue while observing due process and the rights of individuals involved.
The PNP said it will continue working with partner agencies to prevent the entry, transport, and distribution of illegal drugs in communities.
