President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has allocated P220 million in special financial assistance to support Central Luzon communities recovering from severe flooding.
During a Palace press briefing on Tuesday, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the release of the funds, which aim to assist local government units in addressing the immediate needs of affected residents and sustaining disaster response efforts.
Castro noted that the Chief Executive expressed satisfaction with how government agencies handled the crisis at the height of the bad weather.
“Satisfied naman ang Pangulo sa naging pagtugon ng pamahalaan noong kasagsagan ng sama ng panahon sa Central Luzon,” Castro stated. “Namahagi si Pangulong Marcos Jr. ng aabot sa 220 million special financial assistance mula sa Office of the President na gagamitin upang tugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga binahang residente.”
Under the fund distribution, the provincial governments of Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Zambales each received P30 million to reinforce their local relief operations. Meanwhile, the municipalities of Calumpit and Hagonoy in Bulacan were granted P15 million each, and the province of Aurora received P10 million.
The financial aid is expected to bolster ongoing local recovery initiatives and provide immediate assistance to displaced families across the region.
