The Philippine National Police arrested four regional most wanted persons in separate warrant operations across the country on July 7.
The suspects were wanted for cases involving statutory rape, rape, murder, carnapping, and bouncing checks, according to the PNP.
Police said all arrests were carried out through valid warrants and in accordance with legal procedures.
In Baguio City, authorities arrested a 45-year-old man listed as the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera. He was wanted for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act, and two counts of violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22, or the Bouncing Checks Law.
In Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte, police arrested a 48-year-old man listed as the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 8 in connection with a rape case.
In Iriga City, Camarines Sur, authorities arrested a 22-year-old man identified as the No. 2 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 5 for murder.
In Cebu City, police arrested a 23-year-old man listed as the No. 3 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 10 for four counts of statutory rape.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their coordination in serving the warrants.
“Ang mahalaga, patuloy nating ipinapakita na gumagana ang ating sistema at hindi natin pinapabayaan ang mga kasong kailangang harapin sa tamang proseso. Sa bawat operasyon, inuuna natin ang pagsunod sa batas at ang pagpapanatili ng tiwala ng publiko,” Nartatez said.
The PNP said the arrests are part of its continuing campaign against wanted persons under its Enhanced Managing Police Operations program.
It said it will continue to pursue fugitives through lawful, professional, and accountable police operations.
