Chinese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Makati Mayor Nancy Binay

Mayor Nancy Binay welcomed His Excellency Ambassador Jing Quan of the People’s Republic of China during a courtesy call and meeting at Makati City Hall to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the city and China.

The discussions focused on possible collaborations in waste-to-energy initiatives, cultural exchange programs, and other opportunities for mutual assistance and partnership.

City officials said the meeting reflects Makati’s continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships that promote sustainable development, innovation, and cultural understanding for the benefit of its residents.

Also present during the meeting were International Relations Department Head Josephine Angela Yu, City Public Safety Officer Police Brig. Gen. Rodelio Jocson, and Councilor Dino Imperial.

Joining Ambassador Jing Quan were Chinese Embassy officials Yang Weimin, Counselor for Political Affairs; Jia Lei, First Secretary and Director of the Administrative Office; and Attachés Cao Kaiwen and Liu Lucheng.

The courtesy meeting underscored the importance of fostering international cooperation and exploring initiatives that can contribute to Makati City’s long-term development goals.
