The Philippine Army and the Malaysian Army have strengthened bilateral defense cooperation following the conclusion of the 12-day Training Activity (TA) LAND MALPHI 24/2026 held at the Headquarters of the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division (10ID) in Mawab, Davao de Oro on June 11, 2026.
The annual exercise, hosted alternately by both armies, focused on enhancing interoperability and improving operational planning capabilities through a series of joint professional military engagements.
Senior military officials from both countries attended the closing ceremony, led by 10ID Commander Maj. Gen. Alvin V. Luzon and representatives of the Malaysian Army.
The activity formally ended with a symbolic removal of exercise caps and armbands, marking the completion of the training and reaffirming both armies’ commitment to closer defense coordination and regional security cooperation.
Officials said the exercise reflects the continuing efforts of the Philippine Army to deepen international military partnerships within ASEAN and strengthen collective readiness through regular joint training activities.
