On the 128th anniversary of Philippine independence, Senator Chiz Escudero reminded Filipinos that freedom is not merely a historical achievement, but a responsibility to be upheld every day.
“Freedom is not only a memory of what was fought for in the past, but a duty we must protect through honest service, decisions made for the common good, and standing up for what is right,” the lawmaker said in a message.
He emphasized that living these values demonstrates that the liberty secured by past generations remains alive and meaningful today.
The senator also noted that patriotism extends beyond celebration. “Being a true citizen is not just about marking the occasion; it is a responsibility we must embody and defend for the generations to come,” he said.
“Mabuhay ang ating Inang Bayan. Mabuhay ang kalayaan!” Escudero concluded, reaffirming the call to uphold the spirit of independence and service to the nation.
