The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Monday morning placed private contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya under arrest on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by a Malolos City Regional Trial Court for malversation through falsification of public documents in connection with his alleged involvement in getting kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects.
Discaya was arrested by the CIDG-National Capital Region in the Senate building, where he had been detained since September last year after he was cited in contempt by the Blue Ribbon Committee for lying.
The warrant of arrest also covered his wife, Sarah, who is currently detained at the Lapu-lapu City Jail, in Cebu, in connection with a multi-million “ghost” flood control project in Davao Occidental.
The arresting team left the Senate premises with Curlee Discaya at around 7:30 a.m. after getting a medical clearance from the upper chamber’s medical unit.
