Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation – Bataan District Office (NBI-BATADO) arrested a Chinese national and three Filipinos for allegedly selling and distributing unregistered household hazardous products in Bataan.
The NBI said the operation stemmed from an intelligence report that several establishments in the province were selling unregistered Household Aerosol Insecticide, which is classified as a Household/Urban Hazardous Substance.
Agents first conducted a test-buy operation to secure samples of the products, which were later submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for verification. In a formal certification, the FDA confirmed that the items were unregistered and had no required safety permits.
On May 26, 2026, NBI agents and FDA enforcement officers carried out a joint buy-bust and inspection operation at two business establishments in Orani and Abucay, Bataan. Authorities said the suspects were caught selling the hazardous products, which had an estimated total value of P120,000.
The arrested individuals were brought to the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Bataan for inquest proceedings for alleged violations of Republic Act 3720 (The Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act), as amended by Republic Act 9711 (The Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009).
