3 Vehicles Recovered in Davao, Bulacan, Benguet Anti-Carnapping Ops

The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) recovered three motor vehicles in separate operations conducted in Davao del Norte, Bulacan, and Benguet on June 16, 2026, through a mix of intelligence work, police assistance, and voluntary surrender.

In Tagum City, Davao del Norte, personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) recovered a Nissan Livina after a complaint over the failure to return a rented vehicle. Acting on information, operatives immediately proceeded to the area and recovered the unit through police assistance.

In San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan, operatives recovered a Mitsubishi Xpander during an intensified anti-carnapping operation. The vehicle was flagged down for a traffic violation, and verification of documents revealed discrepancies in the registration papers presented by the driver.

In Benguet, authorities took custody of a Toyota Innova that was voluntarily surrendered pending determination of its legal status. The vehicle had been recovered by a repossession agency but later became the subject of conflicting claims over the legality of the repossession.

PNP-HPG Director PBGen. Rommel S. Batangan commended the operating units for their professionalism and adherence to due process in handling motor vehicle-related cases.

“These recoveries demonstrate the Highway Patrol Group’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of vehicle owners while ensuring that disputes and violations are resolved through lawful procedures,” Batangan said.

He urged the public to exercise caution in vehicle transactions and to coordinate with authorities immediately in cases of irregularities.

The PNP-HPG said it will continue its intensified anti-carnapping campaign nationwide through intelligence operations, verification drives, and public awareness efforts.
