The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) arrested three wanted persons in separate manhunt operations in Laguna, Cagayan de Oro City, and Kalinga on May 13.
PNP-HPG director Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan said the operations were part of the group’s continuing effort to locate persons facing criminal charges and bring them before the courts.
In Calamba City, Laguna, personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT)-Laguna, in coordination with the Los Baños Warrant Section, arrested a 39-year-old contractor along Bucal Bypass Road in Barangay Bucal at around 10 am.
The suspect, a resident of Los Baños, was wanted for alleged violation of Article 315 paragraph 2(a) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 10951. He was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by the Municipal Trial Court of Los Baños under Criminal Case No. 15822-26 dated May 12, 2026. Bail was set at P18,000.
In Cagayan de Oro City, personnel of the City Highway Patrol Team arrested a 59-year-old woman in Barangay Patag at around 12:30 pm.
Police said the suspect was wanted for alleged violation of Section 22(a) and (d), in relation to Section 28(e), of Republic Act No. 8282. She was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Cagayan de Oro City under Criminal Case No. R-CDO-23-02818-CR. Bail was set at P72,000.
In Tabuk City, Kalinga, joint operatives from PHPT Kalinga, Rizal Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit Kalinga, Provincial Investigation Team Kalinga, and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 arrested an 18-year-old man at Antonio’s Boarding House in Purok 4, Barangay Bulanao at around 3 pm.
The suspect, a resident of Rizal, Kalinga, was wanted for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016. The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Tabuk City under Criminal Case No. 163-2026-P dated May 11, 2026, with no bail recommended.
Initial investigation showed that the case stemmed from the alleged forcible taking of a motorcycle in Rizal, Kalinga on February 25.
The three arrested persons are now under police custody for documentation and proper disposition pending their turnover to the courts that issued the warrants.
“The PNP-HPG remains committed to intensifying intelligence-driven operations to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are located and brought before the courts,” Batangan said.
The PNP-HPG urged the public to support law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities and information on the whereabouts of wanted persons to authorities.
