The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in the Cordillera Administrative Region has been recognized for providing technical-vocational training to persons deprived of liberty and helping prepare them for employment after release.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology presented TESDA-Cordillera with a Plaque of Appreciation during its 35th anniversary celebration.
The recognition highlighted the agencies’ continuing partnership in delivering skills training and livelihood programs inside detention facilities.
Through the initiative, PDLs gain practical competencies intended to improve their employment prospects and support their reintegration into society.
TESDA said the programs form part of broader rehabilitation efforts by giving participants opportunities to build productive livelihoods after serving their sentences.
The agency added that skills training can help former PDLs rebuild their lives, contribute to their communities and enter the workforce with greater confidence.
