Seven in 10 Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of their district representatives, according to the latest nationwide survey by WR Numero Research.
Results from the March 2026 Philippine Public Opinion Monitor showed that 71 percent of respondents expressed approval of their local lawmakers, reflecting strong support at the grassroots level.
Deputy Speaker and Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun said the high satisfaction rating highlights constituents’ direct experiences with services delivered in their communities.
The same survey, however, showed a more divided view of the House of Representatives as an institution, with 35 percent rating it “mahusay” (good), 35 percent dissatisfied, and 30 percent undecided.
The ratings were comparable to those of the Senate, suggesting similar public perceptions of both chambers of Congress.
The survey was conducted from March 10 to 17 through face-to-face interviews with 1,455 adult respondents nationwide, with a margin of error of ±3 percent at a 95-percent confidence level.
Khonghun said institutional ratings are often shaped by broader national issues and political developments, while local satisfaction tends to reflect more tangible assistance such as medical aid, infrastructure projects, and community programs.
He also noted that the 30 percent of respondents who remain undecided indicates that a significant portion of the public has yet to form a clear view of the House’s overall performance.
Despite mixed institutional ratings, Khonghun said the strong approval at the district level underscores the importance of delivering visible results to constituents.
House leaders have recently pointed to legislative efforts addressing inflation, rising energy costs, and expanding social protection programs as part of their ongoing work.
