Riders Set to Receive DSWD Cash Aid in Las Piñas

The second day of the special payout for Lalamove riders receiving cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) began Wednesday, May 20, in Las Piñas City.

The distribution is being held at The Tent in Barangay Manuyo Uno, where thousands of delivery riders are expected to receive government support.

Authorities said around 10,000 riders are targeted to receive aid during Wednesday’s payout. This follows the first day of distribution, when 6,357 Lalamove riders received P5,000 each in cash assistance.

The special payout forms part of the government’s continuing assistance to transport and delivery workers affected by the high cost of petroleum products.

The initiative is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure that the transportation sector receives adequate support and immediate assistance amid the impact of elevated fuel prices.

Officials said the payout seeks to provide temporary relief to riders who continue to shoulder higher operating costs while serving commuters, businesses, and consumers who rely on delivery services.
