The Philippine National Police (PNP), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), arrested a high-value individual and seized more than ₱7.7 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Iloilo on June 17, 2026.
The suspect, identified only as “Banny,” a 51-year-old resident of Janiuay, Iloilo, was arrested in Barangay Camambugan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo. He is included in the PNP/PDEA drug watchlist.
The operation was carried out by joint units of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (Teams 1 and 2), Provincial Intelligence Unit, Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and PDEA Region 6.
Authorities recovered approximately 1,145 grams of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price valuation of ₱7,786,000. Also seized were buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units, citing sustained coordination and intelligence-driven operations in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“Patuloy nating pinaiigting ang ating operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our personnel and our firm resolve to protect communities,” Nartatez said.
Authorities said follow-up operations are ongoing to determine possible links and networks connected to the suspect.
The PNP said the operation supports its focus on intelligence-driven policing under its internal reform agenda and the government’s broader campaign against illegal drugs.
